Laura Elizabeth Becker currently serves as the Arts Program Manager for the City of Beaverton. Prior to her time in Oregon, she has worked in many capacities within public art agencies and programs in both Washington and California including positions with 4Culture and Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, the City of Santa Monica’s Cultural Affairs Division, and Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA). Her roles have ranged from traditional project management, program direction, policy development, planning, collections care and acting as an embedded artist-in-residence within a public agency. She has lectured and led workshops on public arts administration, place-based public art initiatives and professional development for emerging artists. Having been a champion for arts and culture over the last 20 years, Laura has balanced leadership roles in both public arts administration and nonprofit management. She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Washington and an MA in Museum Education from the Rhode Island School of Design. She is a practicing visual artist and longtime cultural producer in the Pacific Northwest region.
